1. Who we are
RockGardenMTB.com (the "Site") is owned and operated by Quad28 Labs LLC, an Arizona limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy and these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
2. What we collect
Very little. The Site has no accounts, no sign-up forms, and no newsletter.
- Calculator inputs stay on your device. When you use our calculators, your weight, bike measurements, and other entries are worked out in your own browser. They are not sent to us or stored by us.
- Visit statistics. We use Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics to see things like which pages are popular and how fast they load. Google Analytics also shows us roughly where visitors are (country or region) and what kind of device they use. See the next section.
- Emails you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers.
3. Analytics and hosting
We use Google Analytics, a service from Google, to understand how people use the Site so we can make it better. Google Analytics uses cookies (small files stored by your browser) and collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the website that sent you here, your browser and device type, and your general location.
We see this information as totals and trends, not as a profile of you. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Our Site is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the Site from attacks and abuse, Cloudflare's servers handle each visit and process technical information such as your IP address (the number that identifies your connection) and browser type.
We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script that measures page views and how quickly pages load. Cloudflare says this script doesn't use cookies or store anything in your browser, and that it discards your IP address rather than storing it. Cloudflare processes this data under its own privacy policy.
4. Affiliate links
As an Amazon Associate, Rock Garden MTB earns from qualifying purchases. The Amazon links on our Gear page are affiliate links, and that page says so at the top. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
When you click an Amazon link, you leave our Site, and Amazon may set its own cookies to track the referral. Amazon's privacy notice applies there. We never show you prices, because prices change. Check the current price on Amazon before you buy.
5. Your choices
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The Site works fine without them.
- Opt out of Google Analytics on every website with Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Block analytics scripts. Cloudflare Web Analytics doesn't use cookies, so deleting cookies won't affect it. A browser extension or setting that blocks scripts or trackers can stop it from running.
- Ask about your data. Email us at the address below if you have a privacy question or request. Because we don't keep accounts or profiles, we usually hold nothing that identifies you, but we'll help however we can.
Children: the Site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
6. Using our tools
Our calculators are free for personal use. Their results are estimates and starting points, not professional advice. Tire casing, rim width, terrain, and how you ride all change what's right for you.
- Never exceed the maximum pressure printed on your tire or rim.
- Pump gauges can be off by a few PSI. Check with an accurate gauge.
- Please don't copy our tools, embed them on other websites, or use them in a commercial product without written permission.
7. Riding is risky
Mountain biking can cause serious injury or death. Everything on the Site, including tool results, race guides, gear picks, and setup tips, is general information for educational purposes. It does not replace your own judgment, a qualified bike mechanic, or a manufacturer's instructions. You ride at your own risk.
The Site is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Quad28 Labs LLC is not responsible for any injury, damage, or loss that comes from using the Site or relying on its content. Event details like dates, rules, and fees can change, so always confirm with the event organizer.
8. Our content
The articles, tools, code, design, and the Rock Garden MTB name and logo belong to Quad28 Labs LLC. You're welcome to share links to our pages. Please don't copy or republish our content without written permission.
We link to other websites, like race organizers and stores, for your convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices.
9. Legal stuff
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, and any disputes will be handled in the courts located in Arizona. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
We may update this page from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. Continuing to use the Site after an update means you accept the new version.
